The sunset is beautiful, but there are so many people there that it is difficult to enjoy the sunset.

Try to go at the sunset, then you will be able to see the sunset with a complete view of both sides of the península

good hike to the top, be prepared to sweat! Shame they put an entrance cost on it even though its minimal. Kind of takes the shine off it.

We made it to the top with much panting and puffing ( had feet and leg massage at Hibiscus before starting off). Well worth the climb we got there just before sunset and were lucky to get a clear night views from the top exceptional. A bit crowded hate to think what it would be like in high season.

You won't find a better view of this lovely town elsewhere. You will see Luang Prabang is mostly covered by trees and embraced by two rivers. Very cool to stay on the top. But it's unfair to charge 20,000 kips if just for the shabby temple. Nice downward walk also.

Great place to get a view over Luang Prabang and the surrounding rivers. Go just before sunset and watch it go down.

Climb up the Phousi Mountain for sunset. Go a bit earlier around 5:30pm to get a good spot. Should be great for sunrise as well, it opens at 6am. Great place to meditate, if there were not that many people around. Cost 20,000 kip.
